Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) has revised the permitting fees for Water Quality Management (WQM) permits. What was once a simple filing fee that ranged from $25 for a single residence to $500 for significant facilities (Industrial WWTP’s, Major Sewage Treatment Plants) has been increased almost ten-fold in 2021.
For example, a new significant industrial facility with an NPDES permit increased from $500 to $15,000. Minor industrial facilities without an NPDES permit (pretreatment) increases from $500 to $7,500.
These increases have caught a number of our clients by surprise. For more detailed information and the full schedule of fees, go to the PADEP website and look for the WQM application instructions.
