Main Lab and Old Lab Building Upgrade

Location; Newark, NJ | Market Served; Industrial, Commercial | Key Services; Mechanical, Electrical

Keystone Engineering designed new office fit-outs for JMEUC at two separate buildings at their WWTP. The Main Lab Building had a second story shell space which was renovated under this project to provide office space for their facility and IT departments and provide a training room which can be split into two separate rooms via a folding partition. Keystone’s design involved designing new power distribution, network/phone wiring, projector/speaker layout for the training room, LED lighting, Fire Alarm Layout, Fire Protection Layout, and HVAC upgrades. The HVAC upgrade consisted of removing the existing VAV units and installing one VAV unit per office. All new VAV’s were connected to the existing rooftop unit and hydronic reheat coils from existing plant hot water system.

The Old Lab Building was not used since the construction of the Main Lab Building. This building was primarily used for the restroom/shower facilities for JMEUC maintenance and operation staff. This building was renovated under this project to provide additional office space to JMEUC, additional restroom facilities, breakroom, storage, and workbench areas. Keystone’s design involved designing new power distribution, network/phone wiring, LED lighting, water heaters using existing plant hot water, a rooftop unit with the hydronic heating coil from existing plant hot water, VAV boxes with hydronic reheat coils for each office, water distribution and sanitary piping design, Fire Alarm Layout, and new plumbing fixtures.
